Our midtown based client is looking for a Business Objects Analyst with strong reporting and business intelligence skills to join their organization to design and deliver mission critical BI applications for their clients using Business Objects technologies. This position will also have responsibility for understanding client business and technical requirements and then delivering them into robust and scalable Web Intelligence reports and dashboards.
Successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business users, clients, and internal/external technical resources. This is a unique role for the candidate who is equally comfortable taking both a technical and non-technical approach toward achieving business objectives.
Responsibilities
· Develop an understanding of client's Business Objects XI R2 environment to help design and deliver reports and dashboards
· Work closely with the business community to gather reporting requirements specific to our clients; create technical and functional specifications for achieving the desired end results
· Perform QA testing and data validation on reports to ensure quality control
· Act as an advocate for promoting the benefits and strategic value for Business Intelligence reporting among the business community
· Promote best practices and standards in BI reporting techniques among the various business groups
Technical Qualifications
· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other technical field is highly preferred
· Some experience working with Business Objects XI R2 is desired but not a requirement
· Strong working knowledge of common reporting tools and applications such as Crystal Reports,
Business Objects, SQL Reporting is essential
· Experience working in across all aspects of the software development life cycle
· At least 3 years of general experience in the Information Technology field
· Experience working directly with business owners and management to demonstrate how business intelligence tools can directly benefit their overall effectiveness

· Solid oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences.

· Ability and desire to work within a cross-functional team environment with people from multiple business units, vendors, countries and cultures.
· Is able to work with little direction or supervision but understands when to ask for support and promotes an open flow of information so that all are well informed.
· Demonstrates good personal time management skills, including punctuality, time reporting and completion of assigned tasks within agreed time frames.
