Manager of Information Technology in New York, NY

Our midtown based client is looking for an experienced and very self-motivated IT Manager to join their company.

Requirements:

. Solid experience, preferably in a creative services business
. Excellent and broad technical skills, strategically minded

Overall Responsibilities:

. Manage all IT matters for 3 business units (about 60 people) out of the NY office
. Network Admin, desktop support, web services, telecoms, A/V, purchasing, etc
. Liaise with IT teams in our international offices and London head office
. Report to COO, develop strategy and budgets together
. Assist studio and creative occasionally in creative or technical assignments for advertising clients

Main Skills/Tasks:

Systems

· Mixed Mac/PC environment
· Manage Windows 2000/2003 servers within a global Active Directory domain
· Maintain local firewall and VPN connections to all necessary points on the global WAN
· Manage Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003 server.
· Understanding of Exchange 2000 - 2003 upgrade process
· Maintain MS SQL Server 2000
· Understanding of IIS and other web server technologies
· Administration of BlackBerry Enterprise server
· Ability to take it all to the next level

Networking

· Assist in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the technical infrastructure
· Implement and monitor network security
· Monitor and maintain connection to the corporate WAN
· Manage outside services like Outlook Web Access, Blackberry, Extranet

Telephony

· Manage Nortel Option 11C PBX, Call Pilot voicemail, and Fax/DSL lines
· Oversee all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments
· Administration of voice and data services contracts

Internal Systems

· Oversee systems backups, archiving using Backup Exec 9.1
· Work with project teams to help implement Internal Systems
· Manage A/V equipment and high-end color copy/printing systems

Help Desk / Support

· Provide desktop hardware and software support for Mac and PC users
· Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to escalated help desk issues
· Interact with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provide guidance

Asset Management

· Build and maintain vendor relationships and manage the purchase of hardware and software products
· Manage the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT resources
· Ensure that company assets are maintained and cataloged

Communication

· Effectively communicate relevant IT-related information to superiors
· Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
· Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
· Serve as main point of contact on all IT-related matters

Operational improvements

· Initiate and implement improvements in all areas of IT responsibility
· Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solution
· Develop implementation plans and arrange training as needed
· Test or evaluate new products/software
