CDI is currently seeking a SAN/Disk Support Specialist for a long term 12 month contract position.
Responsible for SAN storage allocations and some NAS.
On-call rotation and storage allocation trouble shooting.
Strong working knowledge of hardware arrays including: HDS/SUN 9980, AMS, 9990/USP storage arrays, IBM DS4800 storage array, EMC Symmetrix and Clarion storage arrays, plus some working knowledge of NAS (NETAPP) and EMC Celerra.
Strong working knowledge of storage management tools including:
HDS Device Manager (HDvM), HDS Tiered Storage Manager (HTsM) GUI, HDS Storage Navigator/Performance Monitor, Brocade EFCM, EMC SYMCLI, EMC Celerra GUI/CLI, EMC Connectrix Manager, and EMC ControlCenter.
Strong knowledge of storage Raid Groups configuration and usage including: RAID1, RAID10, RAID5, and RAID6.
Skills Required:
Strong Storage/SAN support with working knowledge of all of the SUN/HDS, EMC, and Brocade storage management tools.
Additional working knowledge for troubleshooting purposes should include skills in Windows, Unix, Linux, and VMWare Operating systems and HBA configurations.
Experience in host set-up for connection to the following storage arrays:
SUN/HDS, EMC, IBM DS4800, plus NAS to Windows and Unix hosts. Knowledge should also include Veritas DMP, some EMC PowerPath, etc.
Working knowledge of NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI protocols used in NAS environments, and host set-up to mount NFS shares, CIFS network Drives and iSCSI LUN initiators.
Also, some working knowledge of EMC's Rainfinity, DiskeXtender, and Veritas Entrprise Vault.
Knowledge of Operating System used in IBM N Series Nodes (Data OnTap 7.x), plus EMC Control Stations (Linux derivative) and Data Movers.
A self starter with the ability to self train using OJT.
Responsibilities:
Interface with the customer to gather and complete storage/SAN/NAS requirements and create all required documentation.
Perform storage allocations for storage/SAN/NAS including all documentation. This will also include storage/SAN/NAS recovery.
Work off shift as required.
Work on-call rotation as required (This is a 7 X 24 for 1 week).
Work special projects related to storage/SAN/NAS including any technology refresh.
This activity will include some off shift work, and will require strong documentation.
