Description of Role (brief narrative):



This contract position will be responsible for leading a hot-site project through the project lifecycle: solutions design, project approval, implementation, testing and closure. Requirements have been obtained and the next steps involve:



. Assisting the Procurement Department with the creation of, and providing support for, the Request For Proposal (RFP)

. Working with internal IT Managers, review requirements and identify Work Break-down Schedules (WBS) necessary to support the initiative

. Working with the appropriate internal / external parties to prepare the necessary documentation to create executive level project approval documents including timelines, costs, risks, etc

. Implementing the approved solutions by working with internal resources, vendor resources and cross functional / geographic teams

. Coordinating tests for all business and technology groups in order to ensure the delivered solutions meet business requirements

. Documenting test results and ensuring action items are assigned to, and resolved by, the appropriate parties

. Utilizing internal Project Management and Business Continuity tools to ensure documentation is aligned with Enterprise Standards



Specific Skills Required (Functional/Technical/Other):



Required

 Very strong project management skills needed to ensure the appropriate level of follow up is adhered to and project tasks are completed on schedule

 Excellent communication (verbal / written) and strong interpersonal skills

 Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflicts with competing priorities

 Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

 Demonstrated ability to take initiative and must be able to function independently as well as part of an effective team

 Extensive experience with Microsoft Project, MS Office, MS PowerPoint and Visio

 5 years of financial industry related experience

 Business Analyst project experience

 1-2 years experience with business process analysis, project management and/or audit processes



Strongly Desired

 Knowledge of the Broker Dealer business environment

 Experience with large real estate projects, including technology set up

 Fundamental knowledge of Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery

 Fundamental awareness of Technology groups (Unix, PC/Lan, DBAs, Data Security)







Special Notes (travel requirements, etc):

Some overnight travel may be required



Candidate will have dual responsibilities of Project Management and Business Analysis, specifically:

. Prepare and / or manage the overall project schedule, change control process, ongoing budget, necessary documentation (project related, BCP related, etc)

. Work with BCM team to coordinate (or support the coordination of) testing plans between IT and Business Units

. Coach, lead and motivate project team members

. Negotiate for, and matrix manage, the resources and relationships needed to resolve conflicts in order to ensure deliverables are either completed on time or the appropriate mitigating strategies are implemented

. Prepare and manage the communication plan including regular (and ad hoc) reporting on the status, risks and action items for all levels of members within project teams

. Prepare all transition documents at project completion

. Liaise with Business Units, Technology Managers and other teams (BCM, Vendors, Corporate Services, etc) to ensure all tasks and activities are completed

. Assist with or support the creation of Service Level Agreements between external / internal and vendor resources

. Schedule any meetings needed to ensure constituents complete their deliverables

. Coordinate the resources needed to execute the testing plans

. Assist departments in all phases of business unit testing activities

. Review, and provide input on, Vendor contracts for work area recovery space

. Tour alternate work area locations and participate in site selection process
