Description:





The primary purpose of this position is to provide programming support for fixed income portfolio traders, trade order management and mid/back office operations in the asset management division. The individual is responsible to support and integrate fixed income trading, accounting and analytic systems. The individual will work with portfolio managers, operations teams, business customers and others to successfully integrate vender based systems with internally developed applications in order to provide maximum versatility and efficient operations.



SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will work with Fixed Income traders, gathering, defining and implementing business solutions. Candidate will be capable of understanding modeling, analytic and operational requirements. Candidate will be able to manage systems requirements for trade capture, accounting, compliance reporting and customer statements. Candidate will work with real-time market data providers, such as Reuters, Bloomberg and similar data vendors. Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as with a team Candidate will develop a deep understanding of firms Portfolio Model, including overall construct, all key components and current implementation. Candidate will be responsible for software development and design, systems integration, and testing.



Qualifications:

Proven track record in the design, development, implementation and responsibility for real-time Fixed Income management, trading and reporting systems. Candidate should have project execution and programming experience in software systems integration. Candidate should be experienced as a facilitator between traders and technology. Must have excellent analytical skills and a strong willingness to learn. Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis. Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business workflows. Experience with Trading and Portfolio Management systems Experience with one or more of the following products; PAM, Charles River Trade Order Management, Derivatives Solutions, Intex, Summit. 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience is expected, including significant exposure to models, software and systems used to trade credit risk, fixed income products and/or derivatives.



Decision Making/Difficulty of Work:



Candidate should be able to effectively work independently while communicating progress to management and business customers.



Education/Knowledge:



BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or similar is desired.



Computer Skills:



Specific technical skills should include many of the following: C#, JAVA, Visual Basic, Excel, Oracle, Visio, UNIX and Windows development environments.



Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills are essential. Position requires a high degree of interaction with members of accounting, operations, IT, portfolio managers and senior management at all levels. Candidate must be able to respond to multiple demands in an efficient and tactful manner.



Communication Skills: Position requires the ability to communicate results of analysis and recommendations and to explain highly technical terms and concepts to senior management in both written reports and oral presentations.
