Job Description:
. Candidate must have very good working experience in Erwin, solid database knowledge in Oracle and Teradata is a plus, COBOL, Model Manager, CA Advantage Repository, SQL, QMF, database knowledge (UDB, z/OS, Informix, SQL Server, DB2), Visio, UML
. Research potential data sources to verify definitions and to assess the quality of the data.
. Work with the business analyst and development team to create models and to guide the development team in terms of data and process integration requirements.
. Create conceptual, logical and physical diagrams.
. Integrate models and ensure definitions are consistent across the enterprise for shareability and reuseability.
. Conduct and participate in model reviews, ensuring that models accurately reflect the business rules and policies to satisfy the business requirements.
. Produce standard reports and deliverables to communicate with project teams and business users.
. Participate and provide guidance/feedback in physical design reviews.
. Catalog models and metadata for easy updates and retrieval.
. Develop, maintain, and apply standards for enterprise modeling, including reviews, naming conventions and XML naming standards.
. Analyze business and functional requirements of assigned projects and translate into technical specifications and data rules required for the construction of a data mart, data warehouse or operational data store.
. Analyze sample data and produce relational or dimensional model based on the data and Develop data models for new databases.
. Enhance existing data model and update the corresponding database. Keep all documentation (business and technical metadata, data models, guidelines and standards, etc., processes) current
. Logical and Physical / OLTP / Dimensional/multi-dimensional modeling skills desired
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience interacting with both technical and non-technical personnel is required.
