I. Position Summary:

Direct the IT Application Services discipline, responsible for managing the various JetBlue applications. The software portfolio includes both custom and package applications that employ cutting edge technologies and practices to JetBlue's business units (Flight, Revenue and Support). Participate on the IT Architectural Board to drive the overall technology direction for IT.

II. Essential Functions:

Director, IT Application Services - Specific Functions
? Manages the maintenance and development of all JetBlue applications
? Acts as first point of contact for senior leadership regarding all JetBlue Applications
? Establishes policies and procedures for developing and supporting all applications
? Guides business units in the development of application strategy

Director Level - Core Functions
? Participates on the IT Leadership Team to drive the overall direction of the department
? Provides administrative oversight, controls and supports to the IT Application Services discipline through the day-to-day management of staff
? Oversees the hiring, development and retention of IT Application Services' Crewmembers
? Manages IT Application Services budget
? Provides oversight and management of IT operations
? Guides the overall direction and services provided by IT, including its ability to provide competitive advantage to JetBlue's business units
? Sets strategies and objectives for the IT Application Services discipline
? Approves contracts and negotiate pricing with vendors and contractors
? Directs, facilitates and supports the work of others
? Develops and manages working relationships with business units, groups and people with whom work must be coordinated
? Provides guidance and assesses requirements for additional services and promotes use of IT services, where appropriate
? Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline or budget changes/improvements
? Enables the business by defining high-priority projects which support JetBlue's business objectives, and which leverage the technologies and systems composing IT's technology vision
? Ensures continued accountability for projects being within and across IT disciplines

III. Minimum Qualifications:

? Bachelor's Degree in related discipline with specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education
? Experience desired with industry standards in project management and development methodologies (PMBOK, MSF, SEI, Agile Methods, RUP, etc.)
? Seven (7) to ten (10) years of management experience in application development
? Regular attendance and punctuality
? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Director, IT Application Services - Specific Competencies
? Knowledge of application development environments and standards
? Knowledge of the Project Management Institute's PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge)

Director Level - Core Competencies
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
? Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)
? Knowledge of JetBlue's IT disciplines and interdependencies
? Knowledge of JetBlue's business units and how their needs drive IT work
? Knowledge of budget processes
? Strong interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills including the ability to motivate others
? Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
? Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments
? Ability to identify and manage risk
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.)
