I. Position Summary:
Direct the IT Computing Infrastructure Services discipline, responsible for the delivery of highly reliable and available applications to Crewmembers, disaster recovery strategy and planning, and data center planning. Participate on the IT Architectural Board to drive the overall technology direction for IT.
II. Essential Functions:
Director, IT Computing Infrastructure Services - Specific Functions
? Ensures availability and reliability of all technology operations supported
? Ensures that adequate plans are in place for disaster recovery, and if necessary, are executable
? Supervises quarterly testing of disaster recovery plans
? Supervises data center planning and database strategies
Director Level - Core Functions
? Participates on the IT Leadership Team to drive the overall direction of the department
? Provides administrative oversight, control and support to the IT Computing Infrastructure Services discipline through the day-to-day management of staff
? Oversees the hiring, development and retention of IT Computing Infrastructure Services' Crewmembers
? Manages IT Computing Infrastructure Services budget
? Provides oversight and management of IT operations
? Guides the overall direction and services provided by IT, including its ability to provide competitive advantage to JetBlue's business units
? Sets strategies and objectives for the IT Computing Infrastructure Services discipline
? Approves contracts and negotiates pricing with vendors and contractors
? Directs, facilitates and supports the work of others
? Develops and manages working relationships with business units, groups and people with whom work must be coordinated
? Provides guidance and assesses requirements for additional services and promote use of IT services, where appropriate
? Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline or budget changes/improvements
? Enables the business by defining high-priority projects which support JetBlue's business objectives, and which leverage the technologies and systems composing IT's technology vision
? Ensures continued accountability for projects within and across IT disciplines
III. Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree in related discipline with specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education
? Five (5) to ten (10) years experience in computer operations and processing
? Regular attendance and punctuality
? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Director, IT Computing Infrastructure Services - Specific Competencies
? Knowledge of computer server/processor hardware and software
? Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies
? Knowledge of data centers and environmental components: construction, air conditioning, power and security
Director Level - Core Competencies
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
? Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)
? Knowledge of JetBlue's IT disciplines and interdependencies
? Knowledge of JetBlue's business units and how their needs drive IT work
? Knowledge of budget processes
? Strong interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills including the ability to motivate others
? Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
? Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments
? Ability to identify and manage risk
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.)
