Basic Function:
As part of M&Ts Technology Infrastructure, the Telecommunications Analyst would be working with a team to implement and support telecommunications technologies. This person will also be responsible for making recommendations and implementing more efficient approaches to telecommunications.
Responsibilities:
Install and configure network solutions to support our external Business Partners (IP and SNA)
Perform network connectivity technical problem diagnosis and resolution
Provide network support for the Contingency and Disaster Recovery environments
Maintain and support the hardware and software components that make up the mainframe-networking environment
Install and maintain MVS communications program products including TPX, Netview and Connect Direct.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a technology field or 5+ years of telecommunications experience
Solid understanding of local area networking hardware and protocols
Solid understanding of TCP/IP and IP network routing
Strong understanding of Mainframe communications environments
MVS Job Control Language
Experience with software installation on IBM MVS mainframe systems
Ability to perform MVS Systems Programming tasks with minimal supervision
Ideal Qualifications:
CISCO router configuration expertise
Comm protocols expertise should include SNA and TCP/IP
Programming expertise
VISIO
Network Operations experience
LAN/WAN Network Administration
SMP/E Experience
