Genesis10 currently has an opening in Midtown New York City for a Solaris and Weblogic Admin to develop and support J2EE application build, deployment, and production execution in support of applications development projects.
- Will provide Solaris support for Unix hardware and software technologies, monitor daily operations of server environment, install, configure, and maintain servers, analyze and coordinate resolution of server-based problems.
- Tune and manage Weblogic application server in all test and production environments, support application monitoring and production support, assist with performance testing and tuning.
- Handle the overall administration and technical support of distributed server systems, ensuring acceptable and consistent levels of performance through optimization
- Solaris Admin to develop Solaris UNIX solutions in support of applications development projects.
- Weblogic administration and support
- Automate build and deployment process using Ant scripting
- Identifies and recommends process improvements to provide more effective troubleshooting of moderately complex hardware and software problems.
- Interfaces with cross-functional Information Technology (IT) staff / teams to ensure the maintenance of a secure systems environment, as well as the implementation of effective data recovery procedures.
- Produce project plans and progress reports, as required by management.
Experience: Required education/experience:
- BS or technical institute degree / certificate in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical designations and work experience.
- At least 5+ years experience with Solaris 8, 9, 10 UNIX servers, working knowledge of disk management tools, specifically Veritas Volume Manager and Disk Suite.
- Must have strong knowledge of Open SSH.
- Experience in recommending, establishing, and adhering to system standard policies and procedures.
- Experience in supporting Client Server and Web applications running under Weblogic Application Server
- Experienced supporting Weblogic clusters running under Solaris
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must be able to proactively escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
- Ability to create, modify Jumpstart servers for multiple Sun architectures.
- Strong scripting skills in Perl, awk, sed, Korn Shell and ANT/Java
- Strong understanding of SMTP, NIS, DNS, NFS, LDAP
- Working knowledge of Apache Web Server and IIS
