We are seeking an experienced administrator for our internal LAN group. The ideal
candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years experience working in a mid sized corporate
environment supporting a diverse group of systems and clients. The candidate will
be responsible for maintaining the LAN and related technologies and services.
The goal is to ensure user satisfaction and that processing is always operating
at peak efficiency.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Maintenance and deployment of AD, SMS, DNS, access controls & group policies
- Systems & application monitoring
- Server & desktop connectivity
- VPN connectivity and support for remote users
- LAN projects, problem resolution & I/T solutions
- Operating system configurations & standardization
- Installation & maintenance of desktop PC’s and peripherals
- Application installation, support and upgrades
- Citrix & Terminal server
Experience: CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of networking, operating systems, protocols, hardware & applications
Demonstrated experience administering Active Directory & SMS within a corporate environment
Deep understanding of LAN access controls, group policies and resource availability
Knowledge of the three tiered web based application infrastructure
Experience with client-server & web based applications, installations, configuration and t-shooting.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Experience with remote installations & ‘push’ technologies
Positive team oriented attitude
Ability to work effectively on multiple simultaneous projects
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Ability to install and t-shoot VPN technologies, including two factor authentication
Familiarity with VMWare
Familiarity with LAN security concepts and tools
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of users
