POSITION TITLE: Project Co-ordinator (Contract position)

POSITION LOCATION: New York

BILL RATE: $55 - 60/hour - 4 - 6 Month assignment





JOB DESCRIPTION - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OBJECTIVE

To lead the delivery of transition projects from Initiation through Deployment, including all project activities to agreed quality, time and budget specifications while ensuring adherence to client's project process.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Define, document and execute transition projects, actively participating in all phases of the project.

- Actively engage with local and global development, operations, and product management groups to ensure synchronization and awareness of all plans.

- Actively engage with off-shore and onshore development teams as necessary. Taking responsibility for ensuring project plans are tightly coupled and deliverables aligned.

- Monitor deliverables from development teams ensuring smooth transition and handoff to various Reuters groups.

- Create project plans and schedules and track progress against plans. Establish project milestones that reflect realization of agreed business benefits within timeframe and budget. Identify and track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, changes and dependencies within the schedule.

- Responsible for project risk management. Identify, assess, manage and minimize project risks to successful project completion.

- Responsible for project change control. Ensure the appropriate solution or budget is presented so that projected business benefits are realised. Ensure revisions to the project are agreed from stakeholders and full impact of changes is understood by stakeholders.

- Work with stakeholder to ensure successful completion of all project deliverables. Ensure all groups are aware of project scope, their responsibility for delivering projects and milestones. Ensure the right resources are available at the right time with the right skills.

- Monitor and report status from each deliverable group to all relevant parties. Highlight divergence from scope and adjust where necessary. Gain commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances.

- Participate in project estimations when requested to provide costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to be estimated.

- For transition projects, ensure quality of knowledge transition is completed.

- Perform other assignments as requested by manager







JOB SPECIFICATIONS - REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE



Experience:

- Bachelors Degree preferred.

- A minimum of four plus year's project co-ordination experience or an equivalent combination of project management experience, business experience and education in (preferably) the financial services business.

- Experience managing geographically distributed and multi-disciplinary project teams required.

- Experience managing onshore and offshore development projects with extensive communication, risk management, extensive project reporting and project management tools experience a plus.

- Experience creating complete detailed plans for complex projects and ability to track progress against plan.

- Project risk management experience and extensive project reporting experience required.

- Extensive project management software tools experience required.

- Ability to gain technical understanding as appropriate to the project.



Skills:

- Excellent team-building skills.

- Must be capable of managing several projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

- Very strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgement, analytic ability, and conflict management skills.

- Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills to explain project goals, inspire support and report on project status.

- Excellent communication skills with particular attention to cross-culture communication and presentation skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with direct and senior management.

- Proven implementation skills.

- Ability to get things done within given timeframe.

- Attitude towards learning and passion for work.

- Must be able to cope with continual change.
