Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Central Technology Division, the Team Leader would manage and oversee the execution of the Consumer Credit Card project scope; ensures adherence to all department and technology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assigns resources and monitors progress of the Consumer Credit Card project and all assignments; ensures completion of schedules. Responsible for short and long term FTE planning.
Performs and oversees application development for the Consumer Credit Card project (and all other assignments) and testing efforts, including the review of specifications, preparation and execution of testing; may be called upon to coordinate the completion of integrated testing efforts.
Translates requirements to assist staff in preparing detailed specifications for system enhancements. Recommends designs based on business requirements, identifies issues and concerns.
Ability to act as a client liaison to review priorities and manage the overall client queue. Builds rapport within the organization. Effectively communicates and develops a professional level of cooperation across the organization.
Maintains efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications. Recommends new technology, policies or processes to benefit the organization and improve deficiencies. Typically will lend technical evaluation of vendor software.
Completes status reports and must be able to present projects, status or activities to senior management.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the business environment and needs within the area of responsibility. Ability to understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem.
Responsible for the job growth and career development of staff members by providing training plans, guidance and sharing knowledge.
Responsible for performance appraisals, promotion and salary recommendations.
Must be able to contribute to the development of a cost center budget
Recommends and initiates new policies and procedures, which will improve the performance and effectiveness of the department
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-4 years college with at least 7 years experience in application development software, systems analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience on large system enhancements, conversions and production problem resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience
Requires a complete understanding of a project life cycle methodology and the Bank's enterprise architecture
Requires strong judgment and excellent project management skills
Ability to proficiently use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above preferred
Must be able to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff personnel
Detail orientated and self motivated
Excellent analytical, problem resolution, organization and time management skills
An understanding of multiple business areas functions is preferred
Asserts ideas, encourages teamwork and acts as a role model when leading and directing others
Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
Demonstrates diplomatic negotiating skills and excellent interpersonal skills
Keeps abreast of the Bank's business plan and strategic objectives.
