Job Responsibilities
Participates in technical teams in the development and production of technical site specifications, and maintains the ?technical vision? and operational standards for the ESPN.mobi siteAlone or with Software Engineering, develops improvements of production and delivery techniques
Participates in ensuring that the daily production goals for the publishing content and templates to the ESPN.mobi site are achieved,
Participates with Associate Technical Producers in activities and projects related to publishing the content of the site
Participates as a technical liaison among the ?back room? technical personnel and the creative and content teams to explain technical tools and protocols; helps both the technical and content personnel understand required production procedures; contributes to ensuring that desired content and templates are correctly published to the site
May lead on assigned technical production projects and tasks
Participates in ensuring that the technical aspects of templates and content meet the specifications of the site
Participates in providing or provides the technical information needed to ensure that content and template can and are published
Participates in analyzing or analyzes site requirements of producers, editors, designers and reconciles them with the technical requirements of publishing to the site; participates in interpreting or interprets technical requirements for non-technical people
Mentors producers, editors and designers in the technical requirements of publishing content to the site
Assists in the technical analysis and evaluation of new technologies, products, and product enhancements related to web publishing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferable in Computer Science or a related technology field, or work experience equivalent to formal qualification. 3+ years hands-on web development experience in a professional environment. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming. 2+ years experience working with a structured programming language (Java, C/C++, ASP, JSP, PHP, etc.). Expert knowledge of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies, including HTML, CSS. 2+ years experience in a development role. Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Strong communication skills. A passion for sports!Desired Qualifications
