Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Technology Infrastructure the Analyst would perform the analysis, design, programming and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.
Responsibilities:
Full/independent administration and development of the M&T Bank Operational tools (Network, Problem and Change Management Application/Platforms)
On call for off shift concerns as necessary or on call support for off-hour production issues.
This position performs analysis, design, programming and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems
Applies conversions and enhancements to business systems
Maintains, develops and modifies programs according to detailed specifications
Automating manual or inefficient processes using a programming language; such as Java
Writing and editing software that interact with databases (MySQL, SQL Server)
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of four years college experience (in applicable field of study) or equivalent IT experience
Requires experience with application development software, hardware platforms and system development lifecycle and application development alternatives
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Java Script, Perl, Shell Scripting, and/or PHP
Strong knowledge and proficiency of general computer skills for system administration and concepts of the software utilized in such areas as Relational Database Design and Management, Java Script and basic UNIX/Linux server administration
Possess a strong ability to develop applications to business requirements
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Requires a thorough knowledge of the system development life cycle and application development alternatives
Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
Experience in supporting an enterprise application including software lifecycle
Bank operations and proven project management experience a plus
Prior operational experience in a support position and/or in a position requiring a high level of technical customer services
Strong organizational abilities and be capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a professional customer service attitude
Basic infrastructure knowledge, specifically Cisco IOS, routers and switches
Experience in one or more of the following applications is a plus; Tivoli/Netcool, HP Service Center, HP AssetCenter
