The PC Applications team provides support components for the integrated system desktop applications. In addition to general functionality support, we provide installation; communication, printing facilities for the desktop applications.

Primary Objective
The successful candidate is a product-centric technical writer and an integral team member, actively involved in product design and development, with primary responsibility for all product-related documentation.

Major Responsibilities
Active role in all stages of the software development lifecycle(SDLC), including design, development, testing, documentation and rollout, in which the candidate will:
Participate in design meetings and document the proceedings
Capture and organize business requirements and design specifications which drive the development process
Consult on UI design, ensuring consistency and best practices
Develop, deliver and maintain documentation for online delivery. Documentation ranges from management overviews to detailed procedures, reference information and online help for hands-on users.
Manage product pages on our Web site plus other product development tasks.
Manage documentation process for the team, including all project documents, for concurrent projects
Experience: Knowledge of technical writing principles, practices and tools. Has produced documentation in Frame maker; knowledge of Visio a plus
Experience writing software manuals, including User Guides, Installation Guides, Release Notes, and online help. Able to provide multiple samples.
Able to write to varied audiences, tailoring style to accommodate both technical users (e.g., programmers and administrators), as well as non-technical users.
Can compose original text based on using and understanding a software application or system; can also edit, improve, and integrate text provided by other team members.
Can explain complex concepts in clear, simple, and economical prose.
Impeccable grammar, usage, and style.
Able to follow corporate style guidelines, while still exercising independent editorial judgment.
Able to thrive in an environment with multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
Proven ability to work independently and a team player
Must be a quick-learner, self-starter
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment
Motivation and ability to master end-user concepts, business practices and workflows.
Motivation and ability to master new product development tools.
Hands-on computer skills, with ability to research system functions and confirm operation through hands-on exploration of a system
Understanding of data processing concepts and applications
Minimum 3-5 years experience in technical communication/information design. UI design experience a plus.
