Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Central Technology Division the Project Analyst II would participate in the gathering and analysis of information for defining functional requirements, functional designs, development and implementation of the final project. Performs routine analysis and research in support of business goals and strategies. Implements modifications to solve routine problems. These functions are performed with the assistance of a more senior project analyst. Assists in day-to-day support activities.
Responsibilities:
Assists the client in addressing problems/issues of small scope. Analyzes information, determines feasible solutions and makes recommendations.
Assists in converting client business requirements into functional specifications and functional designs on small scope assignments.
Participates in the development of project assessments and plans to include activities to be performed, estimated timeframes and effort.
Adheres to all current standards and procedures and ensures all efforts are properly documented.
Develops detailed test plans and scripts; performs client testing for routine processes to ensure proper system functioning, with the guidance of a more senior project analyst.
Provides consultation services to clients, technicians and Bank departments relating to the basic functions of supported mainframe or distributed applications. This may also include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms, marketing materials, or cost analysis.
Develops a good understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations.
Develops a professional level of communication and cooperation.
The Project Analyst II is competent to work on certain phases of systems analysis and application support with general direction, but requires instruction and guidance for other phases.
The Project Analyst II possesses a basic functional knowledge of the supported applications to assist in the successful processing of the system on a day-to-day basis and to maintain system integrity in thoroughly testing systems modifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of two to four year's college with at least three years experience in a technology/systems analysis or operational support environment,
Requires a basic knowledge of the client area's functions.
Good analytical skills, with the ability to understand basic development processes and technical concepts.
General knowledge of personal computers and the ability to effectively use word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of the business area's functions and operational environment.
Detail oriented, self-motivated; takes initiative to learn new skills and enhance overall knowledge.
Must possess time management skills and organization skills, plus the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with client personnel.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Preferred general knowledge of the Cash Management applications (ACH, Lockbox (Wholesale, Retail, Tax, Balance Reporting, and Controlled Disbursement).
Familiar with what and how the supported applications functions are used by the client.
