C# Senior Developer - Equity Derivatives IT / Convertible Bonds
Overview & Background
Major financial institution seeking a C# Senior Developer to work in EDT (Equity Derivatives Technology) department. Must understand risk arbitrage, index and single stock volatility trading, fund linked derivative, and convertible bond trading terminologies.
NOTE: If you do not have at least 3 years of strong C# & Java knowledge in a financial institution working in Equities and/or Bonds - PLEASE do not reply to this job post as you will definitely not be considered.
Job Description
In this role, you will design and develop front office applications in C# & Java for the Risk Arbitrage & Convertible Bonds departments. Must be able to effectively communicate with middle and front office personnel, as well as employees abroad. Knowledge of SDLC lifecycle is preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Department has tight deadlines - must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment while maintaining quality of solutions by means of system, integration, unit, and regression testing.
- Development of solutions using Java and .NET with a test-driven approach to development.
- Manipulate designs as necessary, develop methodologies to improve technologies.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- MUST have advanced knowledge of C# developing in a financial institution.
- MUST have strong Java developing skill-set.
- Knowledge of Equity and Equity derivatives.
- Knowledge of SQL in Oracle or Sybase databases.
- Understanding of Convertible Bonds.
- XML - ability to understand XSD schema and XSL transforms.
- Experience working in full development life-cycle.
- Proven ability to deliver successful projects in a timely matter.
- Ability to communicate effectively with back, middle, and front-office employees.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Java/J2EE experience.
- Tibco RV.
- Com/Excel add-ons.
- Test-Driven Development & Continuous Integration - End-End testing, Unit testing, Cruise Control, Ant/Nant.
- Perl scripting.
