A well known financial Services company based out of New York City is looking for a Customer Analytics Business Data Analyst.

Description: Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops, implements and maintains business solutions. Works with main clients, project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements. Provides tutorship to junior analysts. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Markets Role Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to execute core customer analytics to identify opportunities to sell to new customers, cross-sell/up-sell existing customers and manage attrition risk. The Business Analyst will be responsible for developing business requirements and related business rules based on Business Group needs. The Analyst will work closely with the Business Partner and Business Subject Matter Expert(s) in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements.

Responsibilities:
Gather requirements from sales, marketing and business stakeholders around customer data and analytics needs and tools
Prepares requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations.
Understands technical design specifications.
Identifies and documents system deficiencies and recommends solutions.
Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
Gathers input from segment-level experts on business context, customers and products
Works with segment-level finance and data experts to develop a rich understanding of data required for Customer Knowledge Management
Interprets direction from Customer Knowledge Management project managers; identify and bridge data gaps
Executes customer analytics using techniques including penetration analysis; segmentation, market basket analysis and regression modeling
Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively.

Scope & Impact: Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s). Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations, and may jeopardize overall business activities.
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. This role is unlikely to have financial responsibilities

This is a global role, though Business Analysts are likely to be deployed on a project basis and some projects will likely be regional in scope

Business Analysts will generally be individual contributors, though more experienced employees in this role will, at times, have unofficial oversight over more junior ones
Experience: Relationships (internal & external): This employee will interact daily with CI&A project managers; segment-level proposition managers, finance and marketing teams, business operations personnel and MIS project leads.

Skills: Business analysts will have an educational background or on-the-job experience in statistics/econometrics, customer segmentation, database analysis, and displaying analytical output. Experience with statistical analytics software and tools

Top 3 Skills:
1. Expert on SAS or another Statistical Tool
2. Experience in the Financial Services industry (non-consumer)
3. Business process management

Years of experience: 7+

Experience in a Fortune 100 in a Marketing/Customer Analytics group

Undergraduate degree in business, mathematics or any related field required. MBA or equivalent degree preferred

Understanding of Siebel; Business Objects

Professional experience:
Demonstrated experience providing in-depth analysis of customer and market insight through data analytics as well as primary and secondary market research and analysis of the marketplace, customer, and competition.
Good knowledge of current market research techniques.
General knowledge of marketing practices- understanding of how research can benefit Thomson Reuters business.
Exposure to financial services industry preferred-Excellent communication skills: written and oral.
Able to present concise data to senior management.
