Job Description:

The Director Programming is responsible for execution of the IT departmental strategies, planning, and managing of all activities within an assigned IT area. This will include; design, development, deployment and support of multiple IT systems and environments, including maintenance and enhancement projects utilizing a variety of legacy and new computing architectures. Responsible for ensuring all strategies are meet, and assigned projects are implemented on time and within budget; maintaining open communication with the respective customers, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the delivery process, and building the organization by taking an active role in managing the careers of the people within the organization.

SCOPE

1. Leadership ability that can develop and energize a multi-disciplined organization consisting of; projects managers, projects administrators, software developers, database administrators, business analysts and others to learn and apply new skills/techniques respond to business needs

2. Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers, staff, senior management, vendors and contractors

3. Overall general understanding of IT systems, with specific detailed knowledge in their area of expertise, including but not limited to Core Systems (ERP, HRMS, email, file/print, Help Desk), Desktop environments, Server environments, Databases, Networking, Storage, Application layer (design, development and support), Data Security, and IT Architecture

4. Knowledge of formal software development lifecycle methodologies, including but not limited to ?Waterfall?, RAD, and Conference Room Pilots

5. Knowledge of formal quality assurance (QA) processes, including but not limited to use case development, code reviews, defect tracking, unit testing, systems testing, integration testing and performance testing

6. Knowledge of architectural design and implementations pertaining to middleware, networks, client server environments, internet, information sharing, modeling and analysis

7. Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in mainframe, midrange, PC, network, storage, databases, and web-based computing environments is desirable

Job Qualifications:

Work Experience:

1. 7 years experience in full IT systems development, software development, infrastructure systems, and project management lifecycle experience with both custom development and package-based IT systems deployment, including experience working within a formal systems development life cycle methodology.

2. 10 or more years of experience in Information Technology design, and development, including implementation and installation in an on-line business critical environment, or equivalent experience working as a business unit representative on IT development projects



Education:

A Bachelor?s degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
