Position: Sr. Java Developer
Mid to Senior Level, Full Time, E-Commerce, Information Technology, Systems Administration
Location: Garden City, New York
Job duties:
As a senior member of the E-Commerce Applications Development Team, the Senior Java Developer is responsible for delivering high quality technical solutions to support business needs. The Senior Java Developer is expected to keep abreast of industry best practices and technologies, and determine ways to bring the information to bear in improving the e-commerce solution. The incumbent will be required to participate in all aspects of software life-cycle development and maintenance of the existing e-commerce platform. Specific responsibilities include:
Interacting with business clients and other IT teams to understand and/or develop requirements.
Designing, coding and testing solutions.
Documenting all work properly.
Supporting resolutions of production issues in a timely manner.
Participating in QA and maintenance processes.
Mentoring other members of the E-Commerce team.
Job requirements:
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent. At least, 5 years of Java development experience in a consumer-oriented, commercial environment; and, at least, 2 years of development experience with J2EE application servers, WebSphere 5.x, 6.x.
A minimum of 2 years J2EE application development experience in all components, such as Web component (using JSP, servlet) and Enterprise component (Java bean).
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical details to both experts and novices within IT as well as to business clients.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of employees throughout the organization and strong organizational skills (i.e., time management).
