This is a 12 month contract position in Albany, NY for a Client Server/Programmer. Our client's Data Warehouse Releases consist of the design, construction and transition of new sources and upgrades. The consultants would utilize various programming languages, skill sets, and software products to construct the solution - including, but not limited to: UNIX, SQL, Oracle Warehouse Builder for ETL (extraction, load and transformation), FTP, PLSQL developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Cognos Business Intelligence tools. Staffing levels cannot sustain both new releases and the current level of ongoing support. Two Client Server Programmers, under the direction of the client's staff, will work on the releases, insuring that a new release is pushed out every four months. Acquiring the additional contract staff will minimize the risk of not completing a new release every four months by dedicating full-time resources and will ensure that the current level of ongoing support is continued. Mandatory requirements include: an Associate's Degree; a minimum of 2 years experience performing development work in one or more of the following specialty areas: Unisys COBOL, MAPPER, C++, PowerBuilder, Windows NT, Client Server, FOUNDATIONS, Micro Focus COBOL, RDMS, Visual Basic, FORTE, GUI, Telecommunications. Preferred experience includes: SQL, PL/SQL development; designing, creating and maintaining schemas; experience with Oracle Designer and other developer tools such as ERWIN; experience with Oracle Forms; experience with UNIX Shell Scripting; Good communication skills.
