Summary: This position is accountable for the smooth operation of the LAN and WAN area networks within a Global Infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Has end-to-end ownership of LAN and WAN communications. 2. Develops and maintains all aspects of a Capacity Planning and Performance Management Methodology covering all IT Infrastructure components and product applications for the corporation. 3. Makes sure that appropriate levels of monitoring for applications, resources, and system performance are operational, and that the information is appropriately recorded, kept up-to-date and used effectively by all parts of the Capacity Management process. 4. Acts as a subject matter expert in performing focused ad-hoc performance studies as needed to troubleshoot LAN, WAN, or application problems. 5. Production of IT Capacity Plans in line with the organization?s business planning cycle, identifying Capacity requirements early enough to take account of procurement and deployment lead times. 6. Production of regular performance management reports which include current usage of resources, trends and forecasts. 7. Ensures the correct sizing of all proposed new systems to determine the resources required and estimated impacts to existing hardware utilization, performance service levels and cost implications. 8. Assesses new hardware, software, and processes for use by Capacity Management that may improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the methodology. 9. Assures methods used for performance testing of new systems and applications are producing acceptable results. 10. Maintains knowledge of future demand for IT Services and predicts the effects of demand on performance service levels. 11. Manage the development and continuous improvement of processes oriented towards proactive application and subsystem performance analysis. 12. Maintains excellent working relationships with peers in performance management, application development, infrastructure support, business analysis, as well as senior management 13. Travel as required.

Minimum eight years of senior technical leadership experience in a fast paced, world-class IT infrastructure organization. ? Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams responsible for performance tuning and service capacity management. ? Significant hands-on experience with operational monitoring, capacity planning, and modeling tools for IT systems, storage, and networks across various platforms. Previous experience using OPNET tools highly desirable. ? Experienced in the development of performance metrics, instrumentation, trending and service level monitoring of application and information technology subsystem resources. ? Must have excellent problem analysis and critical thinking skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. ? Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects under inflexible time commitments. ? Will have detailed knowledge of Routers, Switches, DNS, Internet VPN?s etc. ? Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and broadly. Demonstrated track record of successfully presenting complex technical issues to executive and financial management. ? Solid track record of continuous learning and application of new IT Technologies. ? Must have detailed knowledge of networking protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, DNS, IPSec etc. down to the packet level. ? Experienced in network monitoring and performance tools like packet analyzers network sniffers, packet filters, traffic prioritization methods etc. ? Masters degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience. ? ITIL Foundation certification (or equivalent) and CCNA/CCDP is desired. ?
