Java, Flash Software Engineer in New York, NY

Job Description:

We are looking for a smart candidate with at least 3+ years of experience in C## and/or Java and object-oriented programming. The candidate must be a fast learner and be proficient in the following technologies in order of priority:

Technical Skills:

Java/C#
HTML/JavaScript
Flash/Action Script 2 and Action Script 3
Strong Object-Oriented design and analysis
Knowledge of SQL and Oracle
Experience with multithreaded programming
TCP/IP and general knowledge of network protocols
Knowledge of C/C++ is a big plus

Non-technical requirements:

A proven record of completing large development projects on time and with a high
degree of quality and scalability
Ability to work independently or within a team environment
Must be able to work under tight dead lines and be self directed
Good written and verbal communication skills

The following will be a plus:

J2EE
Microsoft .NET
MFC
Familiarity with the following streaming protocols: RTSP, MMS etc
Familiarity with online video players, such as: Windows Media, Silverlight, AIR, Real
Media and Quick Time
Familiarity with mobile protocols, such as WAP
Experience writing desktop software using MVC design pattern
Exposure to SCRUM and other agile development practices
