Windows/Exchange Administrator in NEW YORK, NY

The role of the Network Administrator is to work with the Network team to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. In addition, the Network Administrator will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.<p>

Position Duties and Responsibilities<br>
&#149; Assist in managing servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software<br>
&#149; Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.<br>
&#149; Perform server and security audits, system backups and recovery and other recovery processes in accordance with the company&#146;s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Participate in managing all network security solutions.<br>
&#149; Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintain current knowledge of plan executables. <br>
&#149; Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.<br>
&#149; Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.<br>
&#149; Assist with the monitoring and testing network performance and provide performance statistics and reports.<br>
&#149; Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.<br>
&#149; Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.<br>
&#149; Configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices, and voice/data hardware products.<br>
&#149; Assist in managing and administrating entire telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail and video conferencing systems.<br>
&#149; Administer add, move, and change requests from end users as well as new line installations as required.<br>
&#149; Assist with the maintenance of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.<br>
&#149; Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.<br>
&#149; Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data.<br>
&#149; Liaise with, and provide training and support to, help desk support staff on network issues.<br>
&#149; Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.<br>
&#149; Perform all tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements regarding Exchange-based messaging and collaboration availability and security; including those involving user accounts, shared folders/calendars, mailing lists, and Outlook Web Access<br>
&#149; Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Exchange server security through secure access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations.<p>

Experience: <b>&#149; Experience with Microsoft Active directory and Microsoft Exchange administration.</b><br>
&#149; Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network server and PC operating systems (Microsoft 2000, 2003, XP).<br>
&#149; Extensive experience with network application support and hardware troubleshooting. <br>
&#149; Working technical knowledge of:<br>
&#61690; current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards<br>
&#61690; current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards, including Microsoft SharePoint, Blackberry Enterprise Server<br>
&#61690; telephony systems, including Mitel and Cisco<br>
&#149; Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.<br>
&#149; Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.<br>
&#149; Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.<br>
&#149; Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.<p>

Required Education, Experience, and Credentials:<br>
&#149; 5 years Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange administration experience.<br>
&#149; Bachelor&#146;s degree in computer science or electrical engineering or Related experience<br>
&#149; Certifications: MCSE, CCNA<p>
