Our midtown based client is looking for a Global IP Telephony & Network Administrator who will be responsible for the installation and Level 2 (L2) support of IPT systems, VoIP communications, and legacy PBX integration. Additional responsibilities will include the support of other team members with core switch and router functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Installation, operation and L2 Support of Cisco-based voice Routers, Switches, Gateways, Security Solutions, Wireless Solutions and Management Solutions
- Installation, operation and L2 Support of Cisco-based IP Telephony Networks including Cisco Call Manager/Call Manager Express, Unity, and QoS
- Maintain Cisco ACS core environment
- Provides recommendations on workflow and management changes and design enhancements to the infrastructure to improve reliably and performance, reduce cost, and anticipate Company growth and acquisitions
- Evaluate network equipment and services to ensure they meet business and technical requirements
- Adopt new configurations as standards for production network environment
- Work closely with the Design and Architecture Team to implement solutions that have been fully designed and tested
- Produce documentation of environment and operational processes
- Create / update policies, procedures, and documentation to adapt to new technologies and business requirements
- Maintain detailed knowledge of company network standards and the overall local, regional and global network environments
- Ensure SOX compliance is maintained on all Network systems
Job / Educational Requirements
Must Have Strong Knowledge In:
- LAN and WAN architectures and related diagnostic tools
- Cisco switching and routing technologies.
- Cisco CallManager
- Cisco Unity Voice Mail Systems
- Cisco AVVID Architecture
- Routers / Voice Gateways
- Cisco Voice Portal (CVP)
In addition, candidate must possess the following:
- Strong discipline of testing of hotfixes, and patches prior to installing in production environment
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Flexible schedule to accommodate for travel to other locations for IT staff meetings, training and/or assist with clients projects
- Ability to test and introduce new utilities to help the environment
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work for self and/or small team independently
- Able to resolve complex problems seeking guidance when necessary
- Be able to travel internationally and hold a valid passport
Desirable Requirements
Experience in any of the following areas is desirable:
- Nortel PBX administration
- Avaya PBX administration
- Cisco IPCC products
