Position Overview:
Provide on-going maintenance and support of existing systems, including some off-hour support
Contribute to business function analysis and requirements definition
Understand, translate and extend business function requirements into technical requirements
Develop interface/integration components to incorporate business applications into the enterprise
Develop applications and application extensions including functional and reporting/analytical features
Use, create and extend documentation
Contribute to a professional, team environment through collaboration and information exchange
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Understand the business value and implications of systems activities
Understand and support existing system processes and maintain data integrity
Learn, understand and document current and proposed practices
Understand the technical and functional requirements for current and proposed systems
Adhere to departmental production control procedures and standards
Prepare technical specifications and plans for developing, testing and implementing applications
Understand and utilize the systems development life cycle and departmental development standards
Learn and make use of appropriate technology
Effectively write code and use development tools in constructing applications
Utilize high-quality test methodologies/quality assurance
Take responsibility for assigned tasks, understanding and achieving expectations
Recognize opportunities and propose solutions to improve business processes
Be "expert" in system internals and interfaces
Prepare technical specifications and plans for developing, testing and implementing applications
Manage daily activities considering priorities, expectations and limitations
Meet regularly with Project Manager and communicate status, including potential delays or risks
Be proactive in monitoring existing systems to insure consistency and reliability
Assist business area individuals in using technology, particularly in the use of applications
Develop and maintain productive working relationships
Professional Requirements:
0 to 3 years of programming experience
Strong knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
o Oracle
o SQL Server
o MS Access
Application Integration expertise including:
o Custom programming using current development tools
o ETL methods and tools
o Vendor-specific solutions
Experience with:
o Accruent Real Estate Manager (REM) and/or comparable products
o Construction Planning and Management systems
o Materials Management software include procurement, purchasing and inventory management
o Technical Requirements Definition
o Application and System Testing
Nice to have:
o Inter/intranet portal knowledge
o Project planning experience
o Retail industry applications
Background:
o Good verbal and written communication skills
o Ability to work effectively in a team setting
o Adaptable to dynamic priorities based on business requirements
o 5 years in programming/applications deployment
o Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
