Responsible for quality assurance testing of end-user applications during their entire development lifecycle. This lifecycle includes initial development and release as well as subsequent development and modification.
Duties include developing and executing automated test scripts based on project specifications to ensure delivery of high quality software. Using documented requirements and identified test scenarios, you will be responsible for creation of automated test script, execution of test scripts, analysis and reporting on test results, and reporting and tracking of defect resolution using Rational software.
Essential Functions:
• Consult with product development staff to build their understanding of testing methodologies, processes, results and benefits
• Alert development team to product design inconsistencies and/or deviations from standards, and recommend alternatives that would lead to a more optimal user experience
• Automate a test suite for multiple projects
• Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge
• Develop effective relationships within and among departments and with other internal resources
Experience: Required Technical Skills
• 1-2 years Java programming experience
• Junior level knowledge of object oriented programming language
• Strong technical and analytical skills required
• Experience with altering codes; creating new complex functions
• Experience with Windows and Web based application development

• Builds effective relationships within and among departments and with other internal resources
• Prioritizes and remains focused in a dynamic, fast paced environment

• Strong knowledge of Rational Automated tools
• Experience with Rational Functional Tester or Robot
• Experience with UML
• Java Framework Knowledge
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience with application development life cycle
• 1-2 years of automated testing tools
• 2 years of Rational software experience
• Experience with Eclipse
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering preferred
