Description Job Posting Title: Algorithmic Trading Support Engineer Location: NYC FULL TIME Detailed Description The successful candidate will be part of the Tradeplant Electronic Trading Technology(ETT) Support team based in New York . This person will have at least 2 years experience in a similar role. As such the successful applicant will need to possess a solid technical background, excellent inter-personal skills, fine attention to detail and a proven track record of success. Their day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following; Support ? The support role entails checking, supporting, and maintaining Execution System, Algo Engine, FIX connectivity for Equity Trading platform; monitoring complex production system; manning hotline. Tools ? Participate in developing and maintaining monitoring/support tools for the production Exchange connectivity ? Work with the exchanges on new connectivity and mandate changes. Release Deployment ? Work with development and QA community to rollout new application changes into production environment User Interaction ? The candidate will be in close, constant contact with the business unit and will often act as a liaison between the business and development groups. Department Summary Tradeplant ETT is an integral part of the global Tradeplant support team which provides an unparalleled level of service and support to the global Equities business globally. Skills - required Strong understanding of Solaris, Linux and Windows operating systems Experience working on a trading floor support Electronic Trading Systems. Ability to function in a high pressure environment. Trace transactions through the system and conduct research beyond basic scripts and monitoring/research tools provided Basic knowledge of FIX for examining logs and trouble-shooting problem Knowledge of Equity Algorithmic Trading Excellent communication skills, methodical and a fine attention to detail Unix Shell/Perl/python Scripting skills Good knowledge of database technologies (Microsoft SQL, mysql, Sybase & Oracle) Skills - nice to have Experience of working in a highly pressurised trading environment Experienced in a client facing role (in technology) Experience of low/no touch trading applications Experienced with setting up AUTOSYS jobs XML Protocol. Knowledge of networking infrastructure, such as TCP/IP, routers, firewalls, Tibco EMS and RV Experienced with Genoes ITRS
