We have an immediate need for a Database Reporting Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION
Database Reporting Specialis is primarily responsible for providing analytic and reporting support which measures & makes proactive recommendations that drive the key performance goals of the clientele, will also provides input on database and data driven marketing strategies, implementing database marketing projects and initiatives as required. The responsibilities are fulfilled by interfacing with other departments and outside vendors who supply work to the agency on a freelance or contract basis.



This position is also responsible for forecasting all reporting services the agency delivers for their assigned projects by calculating in-house charges and requesting estimates from outside sources. This information is then incorporated in an estimate of costs, which is delivered to the appropriate account team and production supervisor. This role is responsible for obtaining the best price and delivery possible for all projects.



After acceptance of the price, this position has the responsibility to issue a purchase order to the outside resources to complete the work and to assure that when the bill is received by the agency, the price is as quoted.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write queries in Microsoft Report Builder;

• Use SQL to pull data;

• Prepare reporting and analysis documents;

• Provide input on database and data driven marketing strategies;

• Implement projects and initiatives, manage them to timely completion;

• Proactively develop solutions to address problems that arise;

• Prepare data quotes and purchase orders, and ensure timely billing completion;

• Author project briefs and status reports;

• Participate in strategy meetings & client presentations, as required;

• Work with Production personnel, account teams and oversee vendor activities;

• Provide input on improving department processes and prepare documentation on department processes as required.



SKILL SET/KNOWLEDGE:

• Advanced skills with Excel, Programming, and PowerPoint;

• Creative problem solving and analytic skills;

• Significant report creation experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy);

• Database marketing experience;

• Significant proficiency with database applications such as SQL, Access, FoxPro and MDX.

• EXPERT at Microsoft Report Builder; writing queries as well as the ability to pull data using SQL. Manipulate data within Report Builder Cube. Set up custom templates.

• High level of detail;



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent;

• Minimum of 2 years experience in database marketing projects;

• Minimum of 2 years experience in data driven marketing;

• Minimum of 2 years experience in computer systems analysis;

• Minimum of Level 2 proficiency in Access and Excel;

• Minimum of Level 2 proficiency in PowerPoint;

• Minimum of Level 4 proficiency in Report Builder;

• Minimum of Level 4 proficiency in SQL;
