Our client's Foreign Exchange (FX) development team is looking for a seasoned C# developer to fill growing technology need of the front office sales and trading desks. This group is poised for growth and expansion by aggressively taking advantage of the opportunity in the market place.
The FX application development team is a global team with centers in New York, Europe and Asia. The candidate will be focused on the development, enhancement and support of the FX sales and trading applications, with responsibility for full life cycle development including requirement gathering from the business, design, implementation, testing and deployment of enhancements and new applications. The position requires excellent theoretical and practical C# knowledge and a strong OO understanding. The candidate must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player with passion for building rich user interface applications and an extensive use of tiered technology. The candidate must be able to function with light supervision and be able to carry out the tasks necessary to deliver quality solutions to the business. Excellent communication skills are required.
The candidate will interact with internal clients such as, trading, sales, technology and client operations groups as well as colleagues in New York and Asia. There is also interaction on a daily basis with the Firm's business in a fast paced environment. The team operates 24 hours out of 3 locations handing over to each other throughout the day.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- Visual Studio 2005/2008.
- Knowledge of 2.0 .Net Framework.
- Extensive WinForms experience (minimum 2 years hands on).
- Extensive experience and strong skills in C# programming.
- Strong experience in working with rich user interfaces.
- Good knowledge of OO A&D.
- Knowledge of XML and related technologies.
- RDBMS and SQL knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of Linux (basic shell script, grep, cat, ls).
- Experience of full software development life cycle.
- Experience working in a trading systems environment in an Investment Bank, Brokerage Firm, or other financial institution.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of the Infragistic or syncfusion libraries.
- Knowledge of FX or FX derivatives.
- Unix, Java and C++ experience.
