DescriptionOur client a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services is seeking a Datacenter Project Manager. Type of position: Contract Location: New York, NY Manages assigned projects from project initiation to closeout and all aspects of Project Management (eg, Scope, Change, Schedule, Risk/Issues, Communication, etc.). PM responsibilities include:Scope/Change Management: Ensures resource efforts remain focused on the established goals, objectives, deliverables and targets established for the project. The PM interacts with internal and external project resources to ensure evaluation, final disposition and communication of changes to project scope via a formal change control process. . Schedule Management: Creates integrated project schedules including tasks, milestones, resources assignments, and task dependencies resulting in a clear understanding of critical path activities. Monitors and tracks performance to the project schedule by interacting with project team members and conducting regular team status meetings. Updates and communicates the project schedule weekly.Risk/Issue Management: Facilitates identification of Risks and Issues that may affect project deliverables and targets, and interacts with the project team to develop and implement mitigation strategies and corrective actions to ensure minimum impact to the project.Communication Management: Communicates project health and status to project team members, management, committees and key stakeholders as per established reporting schedules, following MS reporting guidelines and using standard PM tool set. Provides leadership, direction and integrates activities with other departments and external contractors to ensure project success. Serves as an influential leader by demonstrating PM professionalism and effectively facilitates an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Effectively communicates across departments and at senior levels. Seven or more years of professional project management experienceSuperior knowledge of the practical application of PM knowledge areas (ie, Scope, Time, Issue, Risk, Change and Communication Management)Solid IT background, has expert experience managing diverse projects from concept through deployment, and can work with cross functional teams (ie, internal and external) to ensure project success Excellent interpersonal skills (eg, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, etc.) when dealing with internal and/or external audiences at all levels of managementOrganization and time management skills: motivated, multi-tasking, self-starting, dynamic individual Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including MS Project and SharePointExperience user of PPM tools for status reporting and risk/issue management Experience with Data Centers, especially new build-outs and consulting experience will be helpfulAbility to step into projects already in progress or in need of rescueProblem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysisEducation Required:Bachelors DegreePM Certification (eg, PMI PMP)
