Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to manage a team toward building and maintaining a first-class global trade capture system for the Global Fixed Income group.

Key Accountabilities:
Primary Objectives:
. Accountability for all aspects of effectively running the FIC front-office trade capture system.
. HR management of the Trade Capture team.
. Working with head of the group on project budgeting and planning.
. Effectively addressing short, medium, and long term business objectives.
. Overseeing all architecture decisions across FIC trade capture.
. Ensuring that all solutions are scalable and yield to high architectural standards
. Working closely with other functional peers to deliver a highly reliable and seamless technology experience to our trading and sales clients.
. Providing trade capture expertise in FIC products to your teams and other teams within and outside of FIC.
. Stay current with the latest technologies and awareness of technologies used by competitors.

Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Core Competencies / Skills:
General:
. Experience effectively applying technology best practices and processes.
. Demonstrated success in delivering, maintaining and supporting complex, large scale, global systems.

Experience: Technical:

. 10+ years of industry experience in application software development, at least 7 of which should be in the Capital Markets industry dealing in derivatives and risk technology.

. Proven track record in building large-scale, distributed, multi-tier, multi-threaded, service oriented solutions in a lead capacity.

. Strong foundation in system architecture, UML, and application of design patterns using object oriented languages: C++ (must have), C# and Java (desirable).

. Well versed with operating systems (Unix is a must have), experience in using cross compilers and porting applications to multiple platforms.

. Able to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, risk managers, and quants and translate their requirements into software design/development specifications.

. Able to effectively match team members' skills to various tasks and continuously mentor them to meet project schedules.

. Professional certification in relevant areas of finance such as option pricing theory or risk analytics is a strong plus.
. Ideal candidate would have CFA certification or formal education in Financial Engineering.
. Must have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred), Engineering or Math.

Languages:
Advanced level proficiency in C++/STL. Reasonable knowledge of C#, .NET framework, XML tools, HTML, Java/JavaScript, and other scripting languages such as ksh and Perl.

Databases:
Sybase, SQL Server and/or Oracle

Middleware:
Tibco RV/EMS, JMS, MQ Series

Job Distribution:
DataSynapse (preferred) or similar industry standard

Other:
Use of debuggers on Unix and Windows, memory lead detectors/profilers such as Purify and Quantify
