One of SGA s major financial clients is seeking a Tech PM/BSA for a contract role in New York, NY.This hire will be a senior team member to help analyze problems, help design solutions and implement technology to build a shared set of components, services and analytics. Responsibilities include: Specialist in project management of IT systems. Strong communicator and creative problem-solver skilled at understanding business requirements, strategy and managing client expectations. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; high level of communication and accuracy. Key person in execution and delivery of projects in a process-based environment.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (e.g. shifts, travel overseas, hours): Staff may occasionally need to be on calls with Singapore and London in their time zone and some weekend work on production releases, but no actual shift work.
Qualifications: Trained in IT project management and SDLC concepts. Team player fostering a collaborative and cooperative approach to software development. Able to define a realistic but detailed plan and work with technology managers to track, adjust and keep on course.  Must be extremely well organized and able to help organize a team's process effectively. Proven, successful real-world project management experience for major Finance industry efforts 4+ years of commercial software development in Finance/Banking sector. Significant experience of full development/project lifecycle. Experience of working in a global team, including excellent communication skills. Excellent business writing skills able to author relevant status reporting to senior IT management. Knowledge of project management processes and tools. Ability to influence technology leads and analysts without direct line reporting control this role will not involve direct management of staff. Experience of working in a global team, including excellent communication skills. Desirable Skills: Significant experience in a project management office role. Experience with coding in major projects within last 3-4 years a big plus. Maturity to represent/proxy senior IT management at some events/meetings. Experience with front office risk platform development projects. Knowledge of derivatives & trading risk (greeks, option theory, etc).
