One of SGA's major financial clients is looking for a Business Analyst for a contract position in New York, NY. This resouce will serve as liaison between business partners and technology colleagues, work with the business to analyze business requirements and review/produce functional specifications for any new/change to technology applications, and with the development team to ensure that they understand the specifications. Will also work with training team to document system scenarios and identify roles impacted and help develop a change management/training plan. Resource will conduct business process modeling and generate applicable scenarios for the technology functionality testing team and coordinate UAT testing.Will help to advise the business on options, risks, and costs, conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. Will analyze impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews, assist Quality Assurance team to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test plans, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed. Will facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation, work with test team to develop system integration test scripts and ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations, and extensively write and update use cases and work flow diagrams for effective plans
Qualifications

Management and creation of project plans, issues lists, and test strategies
Experience producing statements of work, business requirements documents & functional specifications
Experience setting up test scenarios
Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis
Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle
Strong analytical skills, leadership skills, writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
Expert in gathering user requirements, defining technical solutions and creating technical documentation
Experience with Visio and/or MS Powerpoint for data flow diagrams is necessary
Examples of work: Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications Documents, data flow diagrams
Development of business requirements and/or use case methodology
Strong systems analysis skills (vs. pure business analysis)
Understands the technical use case process perspective
College degree, or specialized training or equivalent work experience
Minimum four years of relevant work experience
Investment Management knowledge a strong plus
Project Management experience a plus
Line of Business experience a plus
