The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the operational management of the firm's information technology needs, including the implementation and integration of system and technology initiatives necessary to achieve goals. The IT Manger manages a staff of five professionals and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities / Tasks
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
--Ensures that all internal Information Technology hardware and software systems function in a 24/7 processing environment, in company offices in New York, Europe, Japan and Asia.
--The discovery, mitigation and documentation of information technology risks.
--Works collaboratively with internal departments to prepare, maintain and periodically test a technology disaster recovery plan.
--Maintain and further development of the infrastructure to support and facilitate the Association's business.
--Develops and manages system and technology budget and monitors and approves related expenditures.
--Implement processes and procedures in collaboration with the relevant departments.
Knowledge and Skills:
--Superior analytical, problem-solving, project management and leadership abilities.
--Experience in two or more of the following areas: Technical network experience; server support; database development and maintenance and web development and support.
--Ability to identify the practical implications of new technologies and to relate system capabilities to business goals.
--Superior organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
--Ability to anticipate and independently provide solutions for complex problems and issues, recommending upgrades, enhancements, priorities and strategic technology directions based on independent research, consultation and analysis.
--Ability to rapidly absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of the organization.
--Skills and experience in planning, developing, managing and executing short and long-range technology plans.
--Experience with implementing application systems and effective, user-centered interfaces.
--Demonstrated ability to solicit constructive input from and build consensus among groups and constituencies with differing priorities and perspectives.
--Direct experience with networking protocols to provide technical guidance on enhancing network infrastructure and security. Advance knowledge of LAN/WAN Technologies, VPN, VLAN and virtual computing environments, WYSE and remote server technologies.
--Very visible.
--Compensation commenurate with experience.
--Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (an advanced degree is a plus) or Microsoft Certification
--Ten years of progressive Information Technology experience
--Understanding of client/server and .NET environment and the ability to architect solutions.
--Demonstrated success in project management.
--Previous executive-level or managerial experience of a complex Information Technology environment.
--Strong leadership, problem solving and management skills.
--Strong written and verbal communication skills.
