MS/SQL DBA Position
Experience
4-6 years MS/SQL DB administration
Must have both SQL Production and SQL Application DBA skills
Experience with polyserv helpful but not mandatory
Perl programming
Responsibilities
Installation and configuration of MS/SQL servers Define guidelines and standards for MS/SQL and polyserv installations
Backup and recovery of MS/SQL databases
Monitoring of MS/SQL database servers including capacity and space management
Performance and tuning of MS/SQL database servers
Assist developers in SQL query tuning
Nightly data loading from production to secondary servers
MS/SQL and polyserv software upgrades and patches
Windows hardware and OS upgrades
Provide/maintain tools and utilities for developers and DBA Group
Support for overnight batch programs
Evaluate MS/SQL and polyserv features and MS/SQL related products
Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Work as part of a team to provide 7x24 support
Interface with MS/SQL technical support
