Quality Assurance Specialist
Our client, a top global financial services provider based in New York City is seeking a top-level Quality Assurance specialist to work alongside developers in creating and developing testing scenarios/test cases.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and reporting of testing procedures. Utilize SQL-testing within DB2 or UDB (Unix) to ensure proper data quality. Implement manual and automated testing scenarios.
Responsibilities:
- Create SQL tests in DB2 or UDB database from business' functional specs as well as analyzing workflows within and executing test scenarios thereafter.
- QA/testing experience ensuring data quality within primary data store.
- Accountable for ensuring technicians' quality of work meets or exceeds company standards.
- Train new and existing technicians on effective installation techniques and tools.
- Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance guidelines and procedures.
- Work closely with developers and understand types of tests necessary for creation.
- Verify that firm's and customers' quality requirements are in compliance with quality standards and quality program requirements for products and services provided.
- Identify and report quality issues and trends in assigned area.
- Perform other functions associated with position as appropriate and directed by management.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- Must have at least 5 years conducting quality assurance of systems and software processes.
- Extensive server-side & distributed testing experience.
- Strong SQL-based testing knowledge.
- Heavy experience utilizing DB2 (or UDB in Unix) databases.
- Financial industry quality analysis knowledge and standards.
- Preparation in QA/QC manuals, plans, and procedures.
- Experience providing managerial support for interface or quality services with internal and external organizations.
