We value work-life balance and carry out our mission of making M&T Bank the best place our employees have ever worked.Due to our consistent growth and prosperity, we are looking to fill a key Network Quality Engineer role within the Technology Infrastructure area of M&T Bank.RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor and maintain network device compliance with M&T configuration standards and practices, maintain the integrity of device and circuit inventories Work with Network Engineering teams to derive and document network configuration best practices to maximize network reliability and performance Develop programs as required to apply changes, monitor compliance, evaluate usage, upgrade device OS’s across the inventory of network devices Develop automation tools to assist other Telecom teams in the performance of their duties Assist in diagnosis of reported network application slowness or connectivity problemsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or above in CIS, MIS or Business or possess at least 5 years experience in a related technical environment. 2 years programming in a scripting language like Perl, Python, SED or C Understanding of network performance factors, Understanding of basic LAN and WAN technologies including Ethernet, MPLS, ISDN, PRI, TCP Quantitative Analysis skillsIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: IP network engineering and Cisco device configuration at CCNA levelPerl programming for Cisco CLI. ODBC SQL In depth understanding of Cisco QoS implementation Experience with use of CiscoWorks tools including RME Experience in use and analysis of network trace data through Sniffer or similar tools Understanding of Network security exposures and remediation – Firewall and ACL configuration Server and application administration
