Our client, one of world's premier Media Companies, is seeking a Q/A Lab Engineer with responsibility for configuring & supporting the Quality Assurance Lab environment as R&D and product testing occurs. This role requires you to be very technical, well-versed in a number of cable, television, video & broadband technologies, and have the ability to move/adapt quickly to changing needs while working with minimal supervision. You'll also perform tests on new equipment in the Technology Labs, including installation and testing of new systems.
Detailed tasks will include:. Configure, develop and operate Q/A Lab environments in multiple facilities. Install and integrate new solution platforms within the Labs. Reconfigure test environments and associated platforms to support product testing. Install and upgrade platform software for DNCS and VOD server platforms as required . Set up, maintain and develop required tools, scripts and simulators to support various product level testing . Support teams in conducting end-to-end system integration testing. Support the creation and execution of system integration test plans . Organize, create and distribute product documentsRequired Skills:. 3+ years of hands-on configuration of testing environments for QA Lab environments. Installation, configuration, integration and validation of Lab components including servers, software, networks, etc. . Proven track record of hands-on systems administration of UNIX/Linux/Solaris (v8 & v10) and Microsoft Windows systems. Previous experience in various scripting technologies such as Unix Shell Scripting, VBscript / Cscript / Jscript / Windows scripting host, Quick Test Pro, LoadRunner/WinRunner, or equivalent. Experience with Cisco internetworking technologies such as Layer 2 / 3 switching, broadcast routing, multi-casting, hardware and software. Experience leading SDLC Q/A efforts including the analysis of business/technical/functional requirements, development of test strategies and test plans, coordinating defect management, and QA reporting
Other desirable skills include:
. DBA-type abilities working with Oracle & IBM Informix databases . Visual Basic / Interpreter macro languages . RF / Video Head-end experience. Experience with Scientific Atlanta / Cisco / Samsung Digital Set-Top-Box. Command 2000 scripting
