Summary
Our client requires an experienced technical manager to manage day-to-day operations for our multi-billion dollar subscriber and revenue management system. The qualified candidate will have strong analytical skills, current technical skills, proven experience managing a team of employees and consultants (both on-site and remote), and be self-motivated and self-sufficient.
On a daily basis, the IT Billing Operations Manager will verify that IT applications are successfully executed on schedule, that deliverables are provided, that there are no missing or incorrect/unexpected results, and that all exceptions are investigated and resolved.
On a lifecycle basis, the IT Billing Operations Manager is expected to manage operational-lifecycle events (in parallel with our software development lifecycle) ? to verify that upcoming changes are reviewed, validated, and implemented successfully.
Position responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate all critical functions, processes, and reports for the production subscriber billing system.
o Accountable for successful completion of all scheduled activities
o Responsible for prioritizing and addressing ad-hoc requests
o Related Skills: Create and manage a production runbook
Proactively identify all impediments to successful operations
o Provide direction to team members for timely remediation/resolution
o Communicate with downstream parties or business entities about impacts
Manage team of up to ten resources: budget, resource allocation, time management, and scheduling prioritization.
o Responsible for hiring staff, setting objectives, and evaluating staff against objectives.
o Responsible for providing input on job performance to staff from time to time.
o Related Skills: Prepare a budget, manage a moderately complex project; create a project plan and a work-breakdown structure; provide accurate project status (both from a milestones and project-financials perspective)
Responsible for awareness of industry best-practice, Sarbanes-Oxley, and PCI requirements, and complying with standards as determined by management.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required/Masters degree preferred
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Experience managing daily operations for a mission-critical application. We prefer experience in customer management applications (AMDOCS, Portal Infranet/Oracle BRM, Kenan Arbor, Singl.eview, Convergys, etc)
Adapt to dynamic and fast-paced environment
Skills:
This position requires strong, hand?s-on, technical skills.
o At a minimum, a candidate is expected to demonstrate the ability to perform each of these actions:
? Edit a UNIX text file using the vi editor
? Use a regular expression to find all matching expressions in a data file or directory of data files
? Create SQL statements utilizing table joins, sub queries, functions such as max, min, and count to identify data within a database.
o We prefer candidates who can demonstrate additional technical depth in system administration, databases, or development
Strong analytical and problem solving skills:
o Solving complex problems
o Using historical data as predictive tools
o Troubleshooting data to determine errant results
Experience:
10+ years total experience in application operations and production support roles
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 10 employees in multiple geographic locations. Define and assure adherence to Operations Management metrics and deliverables. Manage 24x7x365 on-call staffing rotation, resource allocation between New Projects and Sustaining Operations & Engineering.
