I. Position Summary:
Plan, coordinate, and lead a portfolio of projects between IT and assigned business units. With the guidance of a Project Manager (who maintains overall accountability for the projects) actively lead all aspects of the projects from start to finish, including project team definition, project planning, documentation, vendor selection contract management, product purchasing, full project execution, tracking, reporting, rollout, interface with Training and other groups, and formalized project closure.
II. Essential Functions:
Project Lead ? Specific Functions
? Work with the guidance of a Project Manager to gain real world experience in project management by leading full IT projects and forging strong collaborative relationships with business departments. Actively lead all aspects of a manageable portfolio of projects from start to finish, including project team definition, resource allocation decisions with Managers of each IT discipline, stakeholder interfaces, project planning, functional and technical documentation, vendor selection and vendor contract management, product purchasing, full project execution, tracking, reporting, rollout, interface with Training and other groups, and formalized project closure
? Lead both software development and infrastructure projects with equal facility
? Interface with JetBlue business departments as first point of contact for all projects assigned as part of the portfolio of projects
? Define project team for each project assigned in the portfolio, establishing leads for each appropriate IT discipline and business function involved in the project
? Coordinate with all project team Crewmembers to ensure project needs are clearly understood and supportable
? Guide business units in defining new IT projects, documenting the business need for the project, and preparing the project for evaluation in the project prioritization process
? Enable business units by defining high-priority projects which support JetBlue?s business objectives, and leverage the technologies and systems composing IT?s technology vision
? Identify and remove or mitigate obstacles and risks to the project
Lead Level ? Core Functions
? Assist Crewmembers in prioritizing new development projects, enhancement projects for existing systems, and systems maintenance projects
? Interface with IT Station Crewmembers for projects in BlueCities (i.e. gate move, ticket counter move, new ramp office)
? Work closely with project teams, vendors and other groups to coordinate plans and activities
? Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change
? Provide guidance and assess requirements for additional services and promote use of IT services, where appropriate
? Make recommendations regarding scope, timeline or budget changes/improvements
? Lead a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously, potentially across multiple business units
? Enable project team Crewmembers to excel
III. Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree in related discipline with specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education
? Awareness of, and preferably some experience with, industry standards in project management and development methodologies (PMBOK, MSF, SEI, Agile Methods, RUP, etc.)
? Previous experience with or exposure to project management processes (by participation on project teams and/or mentorship from Project Managers)
? Regular attendance is required
? Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
? Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
