Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Central Technology Division the Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Finance Systems. As an Analyst you will be required to perform basic to moderately complex systems analysis, design and programming. Assists the client in addressing problems/issues of small to medium scope, day to day.  Determines feasible solutions and makes recommendations.


Responsibilities:
As part of M&T's Central Technology Division the Analyst will provide an oversight and support role for several applications in use at the Bank today for several different Business units.
Assist in the transition of new applications used in the Finance Division from the Business Unit into Central Technology.
Performs basic to moderately complex systems analysis, design and programming. Assists the client in addressing problems/issues of small to medium scope, day to day.  Determines feasible solutions and makes recommendations.
Uses skills and available resources to develop clear, complete technical and functional specifications for small to medium scope efforts, to be reviewed by a more senior programmer.  Updates systems documentation.
Participates with system analysts, operations staff and IT staff, as appropriate, in systems and integrated testing.  Prepares test data and executes detailed test plans.  Performs any required debugging.
Prepares assessments and task plans to include required tasks, estimated time frames and effort for small to medium scope assignments, to be reviewed by a more senior programmer.
Confer with clients and more senior programmers to gain an understanding of necessary system changes.  Provides consultation services to clients, technology staff and Bank departments on basic to intricate functions of supported applications.  This may include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms, marketing materials or cost analysis.
Fill the IT Lead role to manage small to medium scope projects, under the guidance of a more senior programmer or Team Lead.


Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or 4 years in a programmer/analyst environment
Relational database structures - education or professional exp (MS SQL, Oracle)
Object oriented development - education or professional experience
MS Visual Studio Suite of products
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical skills
MS Windows Server management experience


Ideal Qualifications:
Mainframe experience - Cobol, JCL, CA7
SAS
Project Management experience
Crystal Reports (Business Objects)
