Reports To: Manager HR Systems

Key Interactions: Frequent interaction with Project Manager, key business clients, other Application Groups, IS Technology Services and IS Operations. Periodic contact with Application/Technology vendors


Position Overview:
  • The position typically implements, maintains, and supports purchased ERP Human Resources and Payroll applications and requires strong business knowledge acquired through prior work experience within that business function.
  • Provide on-going maintenance and support of existing systems, including some off-hour support
  • Develop interface/integration components to incorporate business applications into the enterprise
  • Contribute to business function analysis and requirements definition
  • Understand, translate and extend business function requirements into technical requirements
  • Develop applications and application extensions including functional and reporting/analytical features
  • Contribute to a professional, team environment through collaboration and information exchange

    Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Demonstrates system proficiency for assigned ERP HR and Payroll application modules
  • Understands the business objectives and operations of the HR and Payroll business functions
  • Understand the technical and functional requirements for current and proposed systems
  • Prepare technical specifications and plans for developing, testing and implementing applications
  • Understand and utilize the systems development life cycle and departmental development standards
  • Learn and make use of appropriate technology
  • Effectively write code and use development tools in constructing applications
  • Effectively use configuration tools to tailor ERP HR and Payroll modules
  • Utilize high-quality test methodologies/quality assurance
  • Recognize opportunities and propose solutions to improve business processes
  • Be "expert" in system internals and interfaces
  • Prepare technical specifications and plans for developing, testing and implementing applications
  • Assist business area individuals in using technology, particularly in the use of applications
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships


    Professional Requirements:
    Strong Knowledge of:
  • Specialized expertise in the knowledge, analysis, configuration and testing of ERP modules
  • Demonstrated ability to develop custom ERP interfaces and programs
  • Expert understanding of ERP software languages,tools,technology and middleware
  • Application Integration methods and tools
  • Employee and Managerial Self Service
  • ERP Web Portal Technology and Work Flow
    Experience with:
  • Implementing and/or supporting at least one of the following ERP application streams - Human Resources, Payroll
  • ADP Payroll Interface Processes
  • Functional Requirements Definition
  • Technical Requirements Definition
  • Application and System Testing
  • Experience with Oracle databases (SQL, PLSQL)
  • Experience with the Web technology (JAVA, J2EE, .NET,XML)
    Nice to have:
  • Retail industry applications
    Background:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Adaptable to dynamic priorities based on business requirements
  • 5 years in programming/applications deployment
  • Minimum of 5 years related ERP experience
  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
