Litigation Support Manager - LAW FIRM in New York, NY

General Responsibilities: This management position is responsible for providing Firm-wide leadership as well as coordination of all litigation support technology, policies and procedures, and staff. Responsible for establishing and maintaining vendor relationships. Responsible for meeting high service level expectations while fostering attorney and client relationships with respect to litigation support services. Responsible for building and promoting the effective and innovative use of the Firm's resources in this area.

Requirements:
. A minimum of 5 years experience in management and/or supervisory roles at major law firms in the litigation support or litigation paralegal, or similar functional department.
. Successful track record of electronic discovery project management within the last 2 years and extensive experience as a litigation case or project manager in a major law firm.
. Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills required.
. Excellent organizational, administrative and project leadership skills required.
. Working experience as a litigation paralegal or attorney not required but strongly preferred.
. Must be a graduate of a 4-year college or university. JD, MBA, or other graduate degree preferred but not required.

Computer Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of Concordance, Summation, IPRO, Ringtail and other commercially available electronic review tools. Candidates should also have strong overall technology skills, with extensive experience in databases and spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities include:
. Building, organizing and managing litigation support department.
. Working with Firm attorneys and clients on specific cases and projects as needed, advising on and helping plan for effective discovery, and case- and document-management. Marketing litigation support capabilities and services firm wide.
. Providing advice on when and how databases, document imaging and other litigation support technologies should/will be utilized.
. Ensuring the ability of Firm attorneys and paralegals to obtain timely information from the case databases to assist in document review and productions, preparing for depositions, and trial support.
. Preparing and managing department budgets.
. Recommending appropriate staffing levels for the department.
. Advising on and oversees space and support facilities at trial sites.
. Assisting in litigation planning and budgeting, particularly as it relates to support services; and presenting same to lawyers and clients.
. Monitoring of costs, productivity, quality and performance of departmental support efforts as well as vendor projects.
. Ensuring that appropriate billable hour requirements are met by members of the department.
. Maintaining current knowledge of the capabilities and pricing of outside vendors in the industry and staying current on industry technology developments.
. Designing and delivering of litigation support technology training curriculum for lawyers and paralegals; monitoring progress and effectiveness.
. As appropriate, attending and periodically participating at trade shows and industry groups.
