Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Technology Infrastructure the Analyst would perform the analysis, design, programming and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.
Responsibilities:
Administration of network monitoring/trending applications.
Maintains, develops, and modifies programs according to detailed specifications
Automating manual or inefficient processes using a programming language; such as Perl
Writing and editing software that interact with databases (MySQL, RRDTool)
Includes the installation, setup and administration of UNIX/Linux servers and applies conversions and enhancements to business systems
On call for off shift concerns as necessary or on call support for off-hour production issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of four years college experience (in applicable field of study) or equivalent IT experience.
Strong foundation of network management fundamentals (LAN/WAN networking) and possess general knowledge of Cisco IOS, routers and switches.
Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution
Strong knowledge and proficienty of general computer skills, and for system administration and concepts of the software utilized in Relational Database Design & management, Java Script and basic UNIX/Linux server administration
Prior operational experience in a support position and/or in a position requiring a high level of technical customer service.
Strong organizational abilities and be capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a professional customer service attitude.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a Computer Science study or related discipline preferred
Familiar with relational databases and relational database design
Proficient with basic UNIX/Linux server administration
Proficient programming skills (such as Perl, Shell Scripting, or PHP)
Bank operations and proven project management experience is a plus
Posses the ability to take manual and/or inefficient processes and then automate through programming techniques.
