Network Engineer for a global Hedge Fund in New York, NY

Our client is a small global hedge fund based in Manhattan; they are looking for a network engineer with strong experience with Cisco internetworking and routing related technologies to work in a collaborative team environment.



Key Objectives:

· Network administration, support and engineering.

· Identifies and evaluates future technologies for enterprise and departmental solutions.

· Participates in capacity planning, system installations, upgrades, and other maintenance activities for enterprise and departmental systems.

· Completes special projects and other job related duties as assigned by management.



Key Technologies:

OSPF, BGP, Firewall, HSRP, VRRP, MPLS, Cisco vrf, and core networking skills.



Qualifications:

· Required: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or computer Science or equivalent technical work experience.

· Required: At least 5 years hands-on experience managing a large scale enterprise network infrastructure



Skills:

· Experience with standard routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.

· Strong understanding and experience with Cisco based routers and Catalyst switches.

· Experience with HP Procurve a plus.

· Knowledgeable in VPN's both MPLS and IPSEC.

· Knowledge of multi-homing connections to the internet and other high available methods for accessing internet resources.

· Understanding of principles and implementation of Quality of Service (QOS) within an enterprise.

· Monitoring and management of devices with SNMP.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

· Some Windows Server, and UNIX Server knowledge a plus.

· Prior experience in financial corporations a plus.
