Provide leadership in setting strategic architectural and software direction. Lead one or more technical business application areas and projects of high complexity or criticality. Controls critical cross-functional projects, related project risk and resulting impact on business and strategic plans. May function as Corporate-wide project manager for select projects. Define and deliver global and strategic technical projects.



Provide computer program and system development and technical support, implement complex technical strategies, and correct problems of a highly complex, critical nature. Initiate analysis for complex problems and issues, determine technical alternatives, analyze vendor solutions and negotiate contracts, and develop appropriate standards for technology application.



Define project objectives and prepare project plans as assigned continuing to utilize technical expertise. Provide analysis and solutions to technical and business issues. Understand and apply technology and Corporate vision setting direction on implementation. Maintain awareness of business and technology strategies and implement technical alternatives and strategies to gain competitive advantage. Manage vendor relationships, and maintain the complex technical infrastructure of assigned area to meet business requirements.



Provide technical leadership and consultation to project team members as directed by the project manager. Initiate and conduct feasibility studies of new and modified operational procedures. For large systems, prepare cost/benefit analyses, functional and detail specifications. Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of the systems. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives. Design, code, test, debug and document programs as required.



Provide consultation and assistance to Corporate and Business organizations in the preparation of project plans as assigned.



Assist in the development of the strategic technical architecture plans in partnership with the business or staff department. Provide technical solutions to business problems, technical leadership and direction to management.



Assist in the management of the partnership with the business unit.



Remain current on technical and professional advances and business strategies regarding area of responsibility. Serve as expert in area of responsibility, identifies process improvements and problem prevention, and advise department and management of relevant information as appropriate.



Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards.



Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company’s Diversity programs.



V. Additional Information



1. Experience in Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM, Portal and CRM required.



2. Experience of working with Portal & Content Management



3. Experienced in the integration of Portal and Content Management products with other standard software products such as ERP or CRM into Enterprise solutions.
Experience: * A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business supplemented by technical course work and twelve to fifteen years proven and progressive experience, including five years in project management and three to five years in a specialized critical technology with a proven track record utilizing the specialized discipline
* Master’s Degree strongly preferred
* Recognition by peers as an expert in programming, systems design, database languages or techniques for applications systems design
* Strong communication, project management, analytical, lateral thinking, planning and problem solving skills
* Strong knowledge of Project Management, businesses supported, and industry trends
* Detailed knowledge of a critical technology discipline and broad knowledge of various technology disciplines
* Demonstrated ability to lead and implement technology and the development of a comprehensive methodology regarding how and where area of expertise will benefit the business and have orchestrated the utilization of this technology and developed metrics for tracking its success
* The ability to apply multiple technologies to business situations, identify and apply productivity improvements, and blend the.technical environment with strategic direction
