Job Description:

The Head UI Designer will be instrumental in the design and creation of our next generation of interactive web applications from conceptualization through execution. This person will work closely with peers of different disciplines to produce superlative creative work and strong user centered design. We are looking for an excellent designer, well-versed in current Internet UI technologies, and some one who is a leader capable of uniting a team to do amazing things.

Candidates will need to supply an online portfolio or live URLs with their role detailed, or provide sample UI documents (wireframes).



Responsibilities:

Promote the development of a cross-product look and feel

Function as a leader to a cross-functional team of software engineers, visual designers, and usability analysts to develop the next-generation of interactive experiences and ensure that finished products adhere to the design vision.

Translate business requirements and user needs into desirable user interfaces.

Stay current of industry trends and new technology, introduce new ideas and creative approaches to the team, and explore those technologies that would benefit our business.



Required Skills/Background:

Optimal candidates will have 3-5 years experience in one of the following areas: web application development (rich Internet applications), interactive agency, design studio or other collaborative design team

Previous experience guiding software engineers and web developers in the development of usable web applications and websites is critical, as is prior experience guiding one or more graphic artists to ensure that graphic work supports usability of end product.

Strong analytical and visual skills, with a thorough understanding of human-computer interface principles and design.

Excellent oral communication skills, which will be used to facilitate consultation with cross-departmental teams and staff.

Knowledge of and experience designing applications using Flash and Ajax technologies is required.
