IT Desktop Support Technician: $50K
The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing routine IT support for users and daily IT functions. The person in this position will perform PC, printer, fax, projector, and scanner maintenance including hardware and software as well as facility wire tasks, backup operations and new employee setups. He/she will provide strong, proactive customer service, document standard practices and processes for department and users, and all issues in issue management system.
Skills/Education Requirements:
Required:
2-3 years windows xp and office setups as PC, Printers and network supplies experience
1-2 years of setup and maintenance of Linux server
Required knowledge of basic networking configuration of TCP/IP networks
Experience with switch, routers and firewalls
Preference for some database experience on MySQL, Basic configuration and maintenance.
Preference for some experience on HP servers installation and configuration.

* Strong Knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity
* Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology
* Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing technical information to non-technical audiences
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Strong listening skills
* Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members
